Henri Lannoye

  • Born on October 30,1946 in Aardenburg (The Netherlands)
  • Studied at the Academy of Tilburg (The Netherlands)
  • Worked as an apprentice in the studios of various sculptors,
    including Marino Marini and Pevkov in Rome
  • Settled in Bruges (Belgium) in 1967 and gained independent status
    as a sculptor from 1968
  • Settled in Luipegem 77, Bornem (Belgium) in 1969
    and built a large workshop (650 m²) with several annexes
    in Bornem
  • Participated in numerous private and group exhibitions,
    nationally and internationally
  • Organized the "Intercity-Art" project in 1986: an exclusive
    exhibition that travelled for four months through 300 cities
    in the Benelux (Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg) area for four months
  • Set up an exhibition park (15000 m²) next to
    his workshop in Bornem, in 1987-1988
  • Founded the non-profit organization called, "Monumental" in Bornem in 1988 to promote monumental sculptures
  • Built an on-site gallery in 1991 to complete the structure design
  • In 1994, enlarged his private art gallery
    space to 1200m²
  • The new art gallery has been open to the public since
    September 2003
